Awful. Just awful.
More than a listen
This is a great album on so many levels. It’s not what you’d expect following Hot Fuss or Sam’s Town, at least singles-wise, but it’s a great sound, with some great stories, a small-town vibe, and Dave came back for some songs. This is in my top 3 Killers albums. The album does fit well with Sam’s Town (not rocking-wise, but songs like Uncle Jonny, This River is Wild, Why Do I Keep Counting…”
Also, It’s ok to mature with or away from your artists.
Great thoughtful album

Love this album. Been wearing this one out for the last 3 weeks.

Can we get a version without the talking intro’s? Stinks when listening on a run or in the car and the first 30 seconds of a song is a auto skip.
This album is awful! Almost every song has a garbage intro with some small town folk talking about small town folk topics, and there’s no way to skip past it to get to music. It was so annoying I deleted the album from my cloud and iPhone. If I could give negative stars, I would. This is definitely pretentious artistic overreach. I wish I had known about the abridged version with none of the dialogue.
Off the snippets we were all able to hear. I’m happy to say the album exceeded my expectations. The album perfect captures that small town feeling. An amazing album with amazing sound all 11 songs have captured the essence. A few personal favorites off the album is “Quiet Town” and “Pressure Machine”.

So many comments are so soft in here. The album is a slow burner and is different, but it’s still so good.
A love story to small towns everywhere
By Abigail VB
Sam’s Town is my favorite album and this album was reminiscent of that. If you are looking for an album to rock out to on a car ride, I recommend checking out their previous album Imploding the Mirage. This surprise album was born in the pandemic and is much different in tone. Interspersed with voice recordings from the small town Brandon grew up in, this album is a love story to that small town. Soulful and slow paced, full of heartbreak and resilience — The people in the songs really come alive. Thank you for this gift of an album! Sam’s Town means so much to me and this album has impacted me in the same way.
A Concept Album With Fantastic Songwriting

The most lyrically impressive and stripped back sounding music the band has put out.
Not Killers music
If you’re looking for new Killers music this unfortunately isn’t it. Sounds more like a Brandon solo album. Hopefully they will get back to rockin on the next one.
